Description
The Department of Economics in the School of Business at The College of New Jersey invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in health economics to begin September, 2010 or January, 2010 by mutual agreement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for effective teaching, research, service, and advising. Specific responsibilities will include teaching courses in principles of economics, health economics, labor economics, and overseeing student research projects. Research interests must include health economics, especially child nutrition; research interest in the economics of religion is desirable. The ability and desire to involve undergraduates in research is required. The typical teaching load is three courses per semester, along with advising.
Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. in Economics. ABDs will not be considered. All candidates must demonstrate development of and plans for a research program that integrates their teaching and scholarly interests. A commitment to undergraduate education, active participation in the development of interdisciplinary programs, and high-quality scholarly research are expected. In addition to teaching and research, faculty participate in the College community through a variety of service contributions.
