The School of Education at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor to teach Social Studies or English Education with a secondary school focus to begin in August 2010.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in either Social Studies, English Education or a closely related field. A.B.D. will be considered only if the candidate demonstrates evidence of advanced progress and a clear plan for timely completion of the dissertation before the beginning of the appointment. In addition to an earned doctorate, the successful candidate will have a solid research agenda, a proven record of teaching excellence in a P-12 setting, and a record of successful college classroom teaching. Candidates will also demonstrate the willingness and capability of implementing technology in delivering instruction and demonstrated skills in working collaboratively with colleagues in various disciplines.

The School of Education serves more than 2000 majors across four departments, and offers the degrees of BS, MAT, M.Eed., and Ed.S.
